Hi Everyone!!😄 This is the first in what will be an effort to answer any and all questions about the reunion, and to give everyone a location to make their own comments, ask questions, post pictures, etc.
First, we have the AirBnB reserved. The address is above. It is located along the Mississippi River, sort of between Minneapolis and St. Paul. I believe, if you are a fisherman or woman, you could fish from the bank at the AirBnB. There are two kayaks available (I want to double check this as there is no mention of life vests, must haves for using a kayak out on the river!). The facility sleeps 18 persons so there should be no problem having sufficient accommodations for everyone that needs a room. Sue & I will be taking the master suite though so don’t even bother asking about that.::smiley.
Next, although there is only one scheduled event, everyone is welcome to come visit, take pictures, try the kayaks any time during the 5 day period. The one scheduled event is Sunday, August 2nd. In its current planning it is an all day open house. Details on food and drink to be worked out. Apparently the site is large enough to accommodate a reasonably large group of people in the event of inclement weather.
The sleeping accommodations can be reserved on a first come first served basis. Post your plans and needs here and we’ll start working it all out.
Should be fun folks. Based on comments already received it is going to be well attended and probably the one and only time, or the last time, that several of the group will be able to attend such a gathering. We’ve got a lot of time to plan, so present your thoughts and we’ll make this an affair to remember!😆.

It will be June before long and only a month until the reunion. I would like to begin to get some idea, for planning purposes, of how many will be joining the festivities on Sunday. Hi everyone. It is the middle of June now and a few things are starting to take shape. The main thing seems to be that, although we will be there for 5 days and any of the group can come and are encouraged to come visit at the site, the big bash looks like it will be Sunday when everyone will be in town and ready to visit. As we get a little closer to that date, for planning purposes (like how much pop to have iced there, how many hot dogs to have being burnt on the grill) it would be appreciated if we have a sort of RSVP list for numbers, etc. Any suggestions are welcome to make the event as meaningful as possible.

Hey, I’m sorry we are late to this event, but if there’s room, we would love to stay at the Airbnb. Of course there’s only two of us. I’ll have to get back to you on the dates. Of course we’ll be there for the second and the big event, but we still need to book some flights and figure it out. Please let me know if that’s a possibility otherwise we’ll find a hotel or something else. Can’t wait.

hey Shawn, no problem. We have plenty of room. It sleeps 18 persons and most of the people coming live locally, or their kids do, and will be staying with them. It’s the persons who are flying in or driving in from a distance that are needing rooms. So far, we have no problem, and it is first come first get so you and Ken are in fine shape.

Hi! Just checking in again. I will be there on Sunday. I’m going to check in over with Tim and with Mike, but I don’t know what they’ll be up for. I’m going to check with Carl about Mike sometime soon and will give Tim a call. I would think neither of them would be planning to stay at the Airbnb, but I wonder if Tim might wanna be coming over on Sunday if we can get transport which I’m sure we could between Jack and me.

Hi Beth. Tim was a little confused about the location of the reunion. He thought it was going to be here in VA. I sent him a letter containing all of the info so far. He should have it or be getting it today. I haven’t heard from or have any contact with Mike, so whatever you can do to inform every one is greatly appreciated.

Hi Beth, we haven’t figured out the donation for the room and food yet. Needn’t worry about it until later. But thanks for asking. Regarding Tim, again, I sent him all the information that we had at the time and I do think that he would like to attend but needs transportationso, anything you can do along those lines would be welcome.

Hi everyone! Debbie and I have talked often about making the trip with mom since we’d be driving. We also talked with mom’s nurses to get their opinions. They think it would be good for her because she has been depressed. So we’re planning on bringing mom and hope she’s up to it. The time with family and memories are priceless!
We also talked about where to stay. We think the Airbnb may be too overwhelming for mom. So we’re looking for a hotel close to Airbnb and Patty. But we will hang at the Airbnb often to be around everyone!
We plan to arrive Friday July 31 but may just hang at the hotel depending on when we get in and how everyone is doing, and we’ll leave Monday Aug 3. We’ll have a car for any transportation needs.
